It was competition time as our help was enlisted to assist with the highly respected Diageo World Class Bartender of the Year Awards. Going all the way down to beautiful Monaco was enjoyable, but also a great challenge. We had to fit everything inside a shipping container and then unload it on the top deck of a cruise ship. We only had 27 hours total setup time but that was no problem for us at Trinity Set & Stage.

It was great to be involved with three excellent drink brands: Ketel One, Tanqueray and Zacapa. We created unique experiences for each beverage, taking the time to craft quality bar areas that felt at home within the luxury of the Azamara Journey cruise ship as it made its way around the seas of southern Europe.

A bespoke barrel wall within the Zacapa lounge was a definite highlight. We used authentic wooden barrels and with our skill and precision, cut them as part of a safe and easily set up unit. It was a fantastic result and created a wonderful atmosphere. All the areas were constructed with a variety of materials. For example, the Tanqueray bar was predominantly built with sapele faced MDF and hand-finished in a lovely finishing wax.

Although designed as a seven day temporary installation, it could have easily been used on a full-time basis. That ship has sailed now but we certainly wouldn’t say no to boarding again next year. Bon voyage!
