TSSL was asked to produce an experimental immersive drinks experience for Waitrose Drinks Festival 2019. We re-created an authentic Victorian street scene, a 16th Century Apothecary, a traditional English pub and an Art Deco inspired 1920’s Cabaret room where each room was sponsored offering tasting masterclasses from SipSmith Gin, Fuller’s Brewery and Moet & Chandon.
TSSL was contacted by Waitrose to help create an event for customers to enjoy their favourite drink via sponsored masterclass lessons on what set’s their drink apart from the rest. To do this we created several rooms to transport customers to another era where they can fully immerse themselves into the setting.
A Victorian street to enter the rooms for each of the classes.
The first room was the 16th century Apothecary sponsored by Sipsmith Gin, this room included walling, shelving, bookcases, tables and benches all bespoke.
The second room was a fully functioning Victorian styled pub sponsored by Fuller’s Brewery this room also featured wood panelled and wallpaper walls, Victorian style lighting and a fully functioning bar where you could pull your own pint.
The last room was an art deco 1920’s cabaret club sponsored by Moet & Chandon. This included custom art deco gold leaf wallpaper, supporting themed gold finished decorative columns. It also had a small stage with authentic antique footlights and draw curtains where musicians and dancers performed. A tower of champagne glasses was created in one section along with bespoke art deco styled lighting features.
